Yesterday we had stake conference and it was so good! We had a transmission from Salt Lake and so uh...some man spoke first, the second counselor in the General Relief Society spoke, David A Bednar spoke and Richard G Scott as well, and they all spoke Spanish! Except Bednar but still it was really good and I love Richard G Scott he is so great!! He spoke to the young women specifically about how they are daughters of God and it was really sweet. It was a really good broadcast!!
One of
our new investigators was going to come but he ended up having to work Sunday
morning, his name is Martin and he is really great he came to noche misional on
Jueves, we unfortunately weren't there because we had to leave to be in the
house by 9:30 but some of the members in our ward told us that we showed up at
10 and stayed for an hour talking to the ward so that was really great to hear!
So we are hoping we can get him coming to church and have more lessons with him
as well. We also found a woman named Cinthia and the first time we just talked
with her for a couple minutes about el LDM, we gave her one and asked if we
could visit with her the next day and if she could read the intro and we could
talk about it more when we came back, and so that was good and she read it and
had some really good questions and is a really sweet lady! So we are hoping
that we can get her progressing as well! The Familia Santa Cruz has been hard
to find this past week and we don't know why, we have been passing by and
calling we gave them invitations to the Conference but it ended up being that
they couldn't come. We are going to have a lesson this week and it's obvious
that they have some doubts so we are hoping to figure out what exactly those
doubts are and help them through it and get them prepared to be baptized.
One day this week I had a member tell me
that one of his companions from the United States told him about a place where
all the righteous people are going to meet before the 2nd coming and I was like
yeah Adam-ondi-aham, and after we talked about it I realized that I don't know
much about it so I was looking in the scriptures in D&C and reading about
it in the Bible Dictionary and that was really interesting to read about. We
have been doing the same things for companionship study which has been really
nice, Hna Burgos is really helping me with my lessons and Spanish, we have also
been reading sections in PME to help us with our investigators. Estudio Idioma
is going good. I'm trying to teach Hna Burgos phrases and she is helping me
create sentences so everything there is going good!
This week after we taught Cinthia the
first lessons and we were talking about praying and Hna Burgos asked Cinthia if
she's had an experience where she has had a prayer answered, and Cinthia told
us a really sweet experience that she had and how she believes that milagros
can happen through prayers. Her story was just so sweet and humble, and it was
just a sweet testimony to hear, because I have my testimony of prayer through
experiences in my life but it's really nice to hear others testimonies because
it just shows that God is our loving Heavenly Father and wants to give everyone
what they really truly want and all we need to do is ask. It was an experience
that strengthened my testimony.
Life is good we are just trying to find new
people, like always, and help the ones that we have progress. I found this
quote the other day that has helped me a lot:
"God will have a humble people, either we
can choose to be humble or we can be compelled to be humble." Ezra Taft
Benson Take it and interpret it how you will but it’s a good
one!
I love you all so much! I hope you have a good
week!! Thanks so much for everything!!
Love you,
Morgan
