yes, that would be a chicken foot just chilin in the soup! They eat them here…they, not me! no I have not had one yet and I am not looking forward to the day when a member/investigator gives me chicken’s feet. I’m hoping its something I can avoid.
Us with a member of the ward, Hugo. He just got his mission call to Brazil!! This was at a baptism that the Elder’s had.
This week has been good! Long, but good. We are
really just trying to find new investigators and we are knocking doors like
nobodys business and setting up appointments and then we when pass by
they aren't there. (#missionarylife) But it's been good and we've met some really
great people!
Our investigator Edgar is doing well and he has
come to church the last 2 weeks. He is doing really well so we have him set up
for a date for baptism for the end of October because the President wants him
to meet with a psychologist before we baptize him.
Also this week (I swear we meet all these cray
crays) but we knocked on this door and this lady opened it and we don't even say
anything and she just let us come in and then walked away...so we were like ok...? so we go
in and she tells us to sit down and she is like let me go get my bible and me
and hna Burgos were like..ok? and we just looked at each other so confused and
then she comes back with her bible and a Book of Mormon, so we asked "Have you met with the missionaries before?" And she was like yeah they came once
but I'm very strong in my religion and so then she went off telling us about
all the rules of her religion and we were just sitting there and we were like
ok? so we might go back and visit her again but it was just so weird and Hna
Burgos was like "I think she's a little special" and I said
"yeah she's def not all there" and I pointed to my head and she was
laughing because apparently they don't have that saying down here but she
thought it was funny so I felt like a cool cat! (#bringingknowledgetothenations)
Also on tuesday we had cambios and it was
really good, me and hna burgos didn't change but our zone goes and helps with
the transfers so thats fun and Hna Archibald (Presidents wife) talked about
with the change of companions we can also change the way we work. we can be
different and be better than we were with our last companion so I've really
focused on being better this week. I don't have a new companion but I figured
we can always change! So I've been trying really hard to be Christlike this
week and it is hard! The President has been telling us with the work of the
Lord advancing Satan is going to be working harder as well. Satan has been
trying really hard and that's something that I've noticed in my own life, and
this week I've really just been focusing on trying to be like Jesus, and it's
hard. I told myself that everytime I get frustrated or my patience is wearing
thin I just sing that song in my head, and it just made me realize so much more
of how much Jesus loves us because obviously it's impossible to be exactly
like Jesus but thanks to Him we don't have to be perfect. I just thought
how much He actually had to deal with, because I'm a pretty chill person but
there are somethings that just bug me and when those things happened this week I
just walked away or kept my mouth shut or I served in some way and it's amazing
how great you can feel when you are really following Jesus Christ and by the
end of the week things were easier, and that just showed me that as I work my
hardest to truely be a disciple of Jesus or a representative of Him, He is going
to help me with what I need and I'm going to be able to help other people
because you just realize that to truely follow Jesus you cannot be selfish,
because He wasn't! He gave and He gave, and it's hard but I know that the more love we give the more love from Jesus and God we receive.
So try to be more Christlike ok!! ok thanks ha! Also, we knocked this door this week and a man asked us who was first the
dinosaurs or Adam? So if you can help me with that let me know ha and also they
are having a blood drive here in Lima and a member asked us if we were going to
donate and we said we can't because we are missionaries and she asked why
missionaries can't donate and we didn't know, so if you can answer that for me
as well...and then after that question I had the question if we can't donate do
you think the general authorites can donate blood? let me know if you guys find
the answers to these questions ok? thanks haha
I love you all and the house looks great!! Are
you going to get grass? I hope so....but I have like a year to worry about that
so yeah haha I love you all and I hope you have a great week! thanks for
everything!!
