You guys this week has been so great!!!
Like, no joke!
But really it was so great! Hna Skousen
and I are killing it! I love her so much!
We found so many great people! Funny
story pertaining to the subject line, we were talking about the past events in
history and I told Hna Skousen that elephants always know when something bad is
going to happen (that’s a fact) but anyway so I told Hna skousen that elephants
know what’s up so that we should find an elephant and follow it to where we need
to go, ok so we find this old man and we contact him in the street and we come
back the next day and he has this huge tree in the back of his house and I was
like oh my I love that tree and he was like it's called, the ear of the
elephant because the leafs are so big! Hna Skousen and I just looked at each
other and when we finished the lesson, Hna Skousen was like “Well, we followed
the elephants!” Ha! It was funny and he is the sweetest man! His name is
Salgari and he is 81 years old and he is so great! He was telling us during the
first lesson that he likes to read so we continued to teach him about The Book
of Mormon and when we left Hna Skousen said “I know he is going to read the
whole Book of Mormon tonight, I just know it!” So we went back the next day and
we were asking him how he was doing and he said that he was tired and he said
"usually I go to bed at 7 at night but last night I was up until 11
reading!" I just looked at Hna Skousen and I was like holy crap!! So we
are excited about him, his wife right now is traveling and is supposed to get
back in 15 days and we want to teach her and they also need to get married
before we can baptize him...so we kinda need her for that ha but we have a lot
of hopes for him!
We were fasting yesterday and I love fasting!! it
was so great! First, we received a miracle, we were knocking a door for an
appointment but it fell through and so we were walking away and this old man
just sitting outside his house called us over and so I went over and he was
like "are you Testigos de Jehova" and I was like "no
hermano" and before I could introduce us he was like "you guys are
Mormons?!" and I was like yes that’s us! And he asked us to wait a minute
because his family wanted to hear from us!! So we waited outside for a minute
and then he came back out and let us in and we taught him and his wife, and
they were sad because their daughter also wanted to hear but she wasn't there
but we scheduled an appointment to come back, but it was so great because we
were talking to them about prayer and he was saying that he prays to a little
baby doll of Jesus and he was like, “is that bad?”, and so we just explained
oracion and how we don't use those things anyway he was like oh ok I will not
use it anymore so that was great and then we asked them how long they have been
married...and they aren't married but as soon as his wife said that they aren't
married it was quickly followed by but I know we need to be married because
it's a commandment that we need to be married, it was just so great to see this
family so prepared and so willing to listen and take the lessons that we were
teaching them! Then we went to a lesson with Michael (who is getting baptized
this week) and we were about to end the lesson and we asked him to say the
prayer and he was like wait I have a question and he asked us "do you guys
pray for me?" and I was like yes Michael we pray for you everyday and he
said "because I feel it, like I feel it inside my heart that you guys are
praying for me" I almost died I was so happy that he was feeling it! That
he knows that we are praying for him but more importantly that he is able to
receive that feeling!! It was so great!! I was so happy at the end of that
lesson it was insane!
It was a really good week!! Oh! Also, we contacted
a taxi driver and invited him to church and he came!! So that was another cool
thing! The thing that I love the most this week is how much I'm feeling the
spirit in our lessons! It’s been so great and I love this gospel!!
I love you all and miss you! Sorry the pictures
were being weird and I couldn't get them to load the way I usually do but here
they are! One is of us outside the church waiting for someone with the keys!
It’s Elder Narvaez, Elder Oxom, Hna Skousen, Hugo Perez (a ward missionary who
is so great and comes with us to all our lessons and helps us so much!), and I!
The next ones are from Halloween when we were buying stuff for the ward party!
I love you all and I hope you guys all have a good week!!
Also, HAPPPY BIRTHDAY JUDE!!!
Love you all!!
