{August 4, 2014}

so this happened.

we were sitting in church. fast and testimony meeting right? and our investigator Rodolfo was there with us and he was just listening to all the testimonies and he was like "I'm going to go up"....I was freaking out...iw as like WHAT?! and he goes up and bares this awesome testimony about how he is hungry for the word and how he loves learning about the gospel. it. was. so. great.
that was probably the most exciting thing that happened yesterday. but then we also found this new guy Herbert. and he was really great too, the greatest thing is that when you are teaching you see the wheels in their mind start turning about all the truths that they aren't living. I don't know if that makes sense but for example, everyone always ask if we pray to saints and we always say no because it's a commandment and we explain all of that stuff right. and so when we explain all that they just start asking more and more questions and it's just really great when that happens, for me it shows a willingness if anything so we are excited to work with him.
Guillermo is doing very well, he recieved the preisthood yesterday and is always just happy.

also...

 we made hamburgers for pday and they were delicous!

ha everything is going really well down here. we were a little bummed this week because we didn't find as many new people as we are used to finding. but we know that we did everything that we could so we are just hoping a flood of new people will present themselves this week....heres to hoping.
I always find that when we are knocking doors, we can be knocking for hours and sometimes nothing, but at the end of the day the last door we knock someone comes out and seems interested, so I like to think that God tries us to see if we can really be trusted ha but I feel like most of the time we past the test so thats a good sign.
Last week President Archibald had us read "The Unwritten Order of Things" by Pres. Boyd K Packer it's from a BYU devotional in October 1996 and it's a really good talk, so if you'd like to be spiritually better, you should read it. :)

also fun peruvian fact: July is also when the Peruvians celebrate their independence day, they ask everyone to have a flag out for the whole month of July and in many parts of the country if you do not have a flag outside your house you can recieve a fine.
bet you didnt'know that.

I love you all! hope you have a good week!

Love Hermana Winters
